Services

The Housing Department has also constructed buildings of MIG, LIG & EWS Rental Houses to be allotted to Government servants posted at the District offices and also given to the staff of the Directorate of Housing and all these buildings are given on rent at different rates on category wise.

District-wise Rental Housing

East Khasi Hills District (Nongmynsong, Shillong):
The Department has constructed 1 no. building of MIG Rental House, 1 no. LIG and 2 nos. of EWS Rental Houses and all these Houses are being occupied by the Government employees.

West Garo Hills District (Tura):
The Department has constructed 2 nos building under MIG Rental Houses, 2 nos. building of LIG and 2 nos. under EWS Rental Houses.

East Garo Hills District (Williamnagar):
There is 1 no. MIG, 12 nos. LIG and 12 nos. EWS Rental Houses and all these are being occupied by Government employees.

West Khasi Hills (Nongstoin) & West Jaintia Hills (Jowai):
The Department has also constructed 2 nos. buildings of MIG Rental Houses in West Khasi Hills, Nongstoin and 1 no. MIG building in West Jaintia Hills, Jowai has been constructed during the year 2013-15 and it is yet to be occupied since there is no water.

Other Staff Quarters

The Housing Department has a number of Residential & Non-residential Building constructed in the District Headquarters and all these are being officer and staff Quarters and godowns which belong to the District offices.

• 5 nos. of quarters in South Garo Hills, Baghmara
• 6 nos. of staff quarter in East Garo Hills, Williamnagar
• 6 nos. of officer and staff quarters at Nongstoin
• 3 nos of quarters in Jaintia Hills, Jowai
• 6 nos. quarters in West Garo Hills, Tura
